We Believe

Winter Haven Christian Church is a New Testament church that has strong beliefs, values and morals. The Father, The Son and the Holy Spirit.

We believe

in one God, Creator of all things, holy, infinitely perfect, and eternally existing of three equally divine.

We believe

that Jesus Christ is God’s one and only son, conceived of the Holy Spirit, born of the virgin Mary, both fully human and fully divine; was tempted in all ways, just as we are, yet lived a sinless life; was crucified under Pontius Pilate, died and was buried, and rose again bodily from the dead on the third day; ascended into heaven and now sits at the right hand of the Father as our High Priest and Advocate; is preparing a place for His church and will return to earth.

We believe

that the Holy Spirit is an active and operative part of the triune God who glorifies the Lord Jesus Christ and convicts the world of its sin; indwells, illuminates, guides, and empowers every Christian. 

We believe 

that the Bible is the inspired Word of God and is without error in the original writings; is the ultimate authority for all matters of faith and the complete revelation of God’s will; teaches that God created man in His image, but man willfully sinned against God and is without hope apart from redemption through Jesus Christ.

We believe

that salvation is only by grace through the blood of Jesus Christ; is freely given to anyone who accepts Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior, repents of their sins, confesses faith in Jesus Christ, and is baptized into Christ.

We believe

that baptism is an act of obedience commanded by Christ; is the act of immersion into water, symbolizing the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ; is for those capable of believing for themselves.
